Holidays in Siusi allo Sciliar – Dolomites / South Tyrol
Siusi allo Sciliar is a small, picturesque mountain village, which belongs to the municipality of Castelrotto. It is the home of the music band “Kastelruther Spatzen”. Surrounded by the rugged and beautiful mountain scenery of the Dolomites, Siusi allo Sciliar is located at 1004 meters above sea level at the foot of the famous mountain plateau of the Alpe di Siusi. But also historically Siusi allo Sciliar is a very important place. Many years back, the famous minstrel Oswald von Wolkenstein called Siusi allo Sciliar his home. The poet lived in the late Middle Ages in the striking Castle Hauenstein, reachable in just 30 minutes. Still today, Oswald von Wolkenstein is honoured with an exciting annual horse riding contest – the Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride.
